I’m preparing my research trip to Tokyo for my new novel, while my producers are at the Toronto film festival to present their last movie and working on the the budget for The Bird Can’t Fly and my editor is starting the editing of ‘Motormoeder’ so it will be ready in time to be send to the glossy’s.

In Tokyo I found a very nice apartment in my old neighbourhood. Twenty years ago it was nearly impossible as a foreigner to get a private apartment with a tatami floor, but today there are offices that only rent to Gaijin (foreigner).
Most of the time I’m trying to get in contact with interesting people for my research. It’s not easy to find them and if I do, it’s not easy to make an appointment; many don’t speak English. And words are, as long as I’m still in Holland, my only resources.
