As the Dutch producers didn’t manage to find any money, we’ll have to make the The Bird Can’t Fly with a much smaller budget. All day emails dash back and forth between me and the producers. The fight has started! They want it cheaper and I fight for my dreams. The main changes are that Dutch personnel is too expensive so I’ll work with an entire South Africa crew and won’t shoot in Namibia but in Atlantis, a sand dune area near Cape Town.
While the emails zip past, I had to run to be in time for a meeting with my editor and my publisher to talk about and sign the contract of my next novel, ‘Motormoeder’. Next to me, Oscar, my publisher.
