My new podcast is called Whale People (Walvismensen).
It tells the story of two passionate whale researchers on an almost impossible mission: to uncover the secrets of the deep sea — a world inaccessible to humans, yet one where whales dive with ease.
Their goal: to tag a Sowerby’s beaked whale — a little-known species — with a transmitter that can track its journey into the ocean’s dark depths.
One thing is certain: when you set out to study the nearly impossible, persistence is key.
Or, if you haven’t already, listen to my previous podcast, Ancient Coral — where I discovered a piece of coral in the middle of the desert that looked as if it had washed ashore only yesterday.
That’s where a revealing quest begins: a search for a very ancient past — a story about primitive creatures that turn out to be far smarter than we think.
