Over the past few months, editor Elmer Leupen and I have been working hard on THE TRAP. Because that is the title of my new film. A portrait of an old fisherman who needs to pass on his craftsmanship. But letting go and passing on his passion proves difficult.
I filmed the trap fisherman for eight years without a crew. Right now, all this material is becoming a poetical short film.
Coming period, I’ll work with Brandon Grötzinger (sound design) and Daan Hofman (composer). After all these years of working on this film alone, it is a joy to now be doing it together.
Getting this film out into the world will soon be my new adventure.
