civilisation

After days driving through the wilderness of North Australia, I’m back in the civilised world, Perth, where I gave a lecture in Pica last night for a room full of artists and other professionals. It is weird talking about art and theatre after being so deeply touched by earth, dust and sky, which together created breathtaking landscapes and overwhelming sceneries. I asked myself why we humans are so ugly in such a beautiful world. But real time to contemplate I don’t take. Like most people I run forwards and don’t think.

Because tomorrow I’ll be back home and have to deal with my publishing house which is falling apart and not because my second novel wasn’t a best-seller. I have no idea yet what it all will mean for me and my new novel. Let’s see.
