Coming week we start shooting ‘de Vogelwachter’ (The warden). Freek de Jonge, a famous Dutch comedian, will perform the lead, an almost solo role.
In this tragic comedy an old man lives alone on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean. For half a century he is the warden of a bird sanctuary. One day he receives notice that his post will be closed down. His happy life – in and with nature – comes to an abrupt ending. The dismissed warden doesn’t want to leave and fights back in his own way.
